I Bike Tuscany

I haven't really updated any of the planning process for our trip. We are leaving 9 weeks from this friday.... I can't believe I'm going to Italy!!!

We decided to sign up for a bicycle tour in Tuscany through ibiketuscany.com, the reviews look great! Really excited.

We've also reserved all our hotels in the 5 cities we're staying, Venice, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome and Praiano.

Amber brought over some Lemoncello yesterday with a cocktail recipe from Giada. This was one part Lemoncello, one part sparkling water, blueberries and fresh mint...... We decided that we might not be the biggest Lemoncello fans?? Or we might need to try out some new recipes. :-)

Time to sleep... I'll be blogging more soon.

Ciao,
Danielle

Panella's Residence

I found this website of a Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Florence. Go to Tripadvisor.com to read the wonderful reviews!!!

Amalfi

I found this amazing hotel in Amafi so I copied some pictures.... this is a place that we could NEVER afford, but I think it's worth a little investigating. I hope to make this hotel affordable with my special talents..... ha, ha.

Here it is if you'd care to check it out.

Limoncello

The Amalfi Coast is known for it's huge lemons and an aperitif called "Limoncello". Limoncello is basically the essence of Amalfi lemon rind in pure grain alcohol. Served ice cold, it's very strong and tastes really good.

I've purchased my ticket and now I can't turn back. This September 25th I will leave Portland for a vacation of my lifetime (well so far.)

I have dreamed of Italy for years.... and desired to travel there and experience the Italian lifestyle. Drinking wine, eating cheese, riding bicycles through the countryside, photographing beautiful landscapes, helping bottle wine and pressing olives, hiking the coastal trails (Chinque Terre) and sitting in a beautiful trattoria eating cheese and drinking wine. I'm so interested in the history and culture of the country.

I'm going to use this blog to help with planning my adventure. I will post things I read and journal ideas so I don't forget anything.

Amber, Andrea, Molly and I are all going for 2 weeks. We have decided to divide the main areas of interest to each of us to plan. The places we most want to see are Venice (Which is where we fly into), Chinque Terre, Florence, Siena, Rome and southern italy including the Amalfi Coast area and one night on Capri Island.

I've been talking to lots of people and getting amazing advice and ideas. I'll be blogging about all the ideas so that I can incorporate them into my travel itinery.

Ciao for now..
